The DR4 Unisex Howie Lab Coat takes inspiration from Charles Darwin, an English naturalist and geologist who is best known for his contributions to the science of evolution. He laid down the framework for the theory of evolution during a time when most people took the Bible as the infallible. In fact, Darwin was trained to be an Anglican priest and at the instigation of his father, he studied Divinity at Christ’s College, Cambridge University. Not the best student, Darwin spent most of his time outdoors, examining natural science and beetle collecting. However, it was at Christ’s College where John Stevens Henslow became his mentor, and after graduating in 1831, he recommended Darwin for a naturalist’s position aboard the HMS Beagle. The ship was to take a five-year survey around the world, which would prove to change the history of mankind. Darwin's exposure to specimens all over the globe raised important questions. The belief at the time was that all other species either came into existence at the start of the world or were created over the course of natural history. In both cases, species were believed to have remained the same throughout. In particular, on the Galapagos Islands, Darwin was struck by how the Find was different on each individual island. Noticing that it had somehow adapted to the different.
